I distinctly remember the clincher from this film: new uniforms = victory for The Big Green soccer team. It also meant victory for Steve Guttenberg in a film sans the Police Academy franchise. But I digress.
The word on the strasse is that Nike and sponsored national teams have revealed their own new uniforms. You can see the U.S. men in all their new glory this Wednesday at 2:30 pm ET on ESPN2 or Galavision (or ESPN360 for those unlucky few sitting in a graduate class, DARN!).
The new U.S. kits are supposed to be a sleek, remake of the retro 1950 World Cup kits. If 1950 rings a bell for you oficionados or old guys...yea, that's when the U.S. beat the mighty English 1-0 in probably the biggest upset in World Cup history. The upset was so unbelievable that British papers famously misprinted the scoreline the next day as 10-0 in favor of the English. Those cheeky buggers!
